Hi Reader Hope you are off to a great start. Mine started when India won the T20 world cup (you'll know what I'm talking about if you are a cricket fan. If not, please ignore this!). Alright, here's the quick and powerful insight I want to share today. Most people think great communication comes down to good ideas and strong words (this is needed. Don't get me wrong!) But there is another factor that quietly shapes how people experience you. Your voice frequency. Every voice vibrates at a certain base frequency when we speak. This is called the fundamental frequency of the voice. And interestingly, listeners tend to prefer voices that fall within a certain range. And I'm not saying that this is for people in large ballroom or hall. It's applicable for an audience of 1 or 2 or 3. Example. your boss, coworkers, your direct team. (There is research that using the right frequency of the voice has a direct impact on the people getting compensation. Hopefully, I got your attention now!) The voice frequency that people love listening to is around 125 Hz. For males, this is usually closer by nature. And for female speakers, it's usually higher by nature and that's why it may be more urgent for female speakers to get this part handled at the earliest. Voices around 125 Hz frequency range tend to sound calm, confident, warm and of course easy to listen to! But here’s the problem. When people get nervous during a presentation, meeting, or interview, their pitch often goes up. The voice becomes tighter, faster, and slightly higher. Even if the ideas are strong, the delivery can start sounding tense, rushed and of course less authoritative! The good news is that voice frequency can be identified and trained. When you do this, your voice naturally settles lower and often moves closer to that pleasant listening range around 125 Hz. And when people enjoy listening to your voice, magic happens. You open door ways that were closed earlier. In the next email, I’ll share a simple way to measure your voice frequency using your phone. As always, thanks for being awesome! Rama

Hi Reader In my last email, I spoke about how your voice frequency impacts how people perceive you—and why a range around 125 Hz tends to sound more confident and pleasant. Now here’s the obvious next question: “How do I know my frequency?” You don’t need a studio, or any need expensive equipment. Your phone is enough. There’s a mobile app called Voice Tools. (It's there in Appstore but I'm sure there should be a similar one in Playstore as well). It’s simple, free, and surprisingly powerful....
Hi Reader How are you doing? Last week was very interesting as there was a knee jerk reaction on how AI is coming after the software sector. Well, if you are not following it, it's ok. Long story short. There was a huge correction in the market valuation of all the IT service companies. And largely attributed to Anthropic's latest launch. This is just the beginning of the effects that we are seeing. AI is already here and it's scary at one end and exciting at the other end. Why exciting? The...
Hi Reader How are you doing? I wanted to share this with my community here but maybe this week is the right time. We stress a lot about various techniques and ideas that sometimes we miss concentrating on one thing. It just hit me like a ton of bricks when I watched my 6 year old's first stage experience holding the microphone. (Ok, I got very emotional seeing that while generally I portray an image of not getting emotional!) Watch the video here. It's a poem and I'm fairly confident you'll...
