Humor is contagious

Hi Reader

Yesterday, I stumbled upon one of my old speeches where I talked about my perspective on getting married. I was 10 years younger then.

My son was playing and I asked him if he wanted to watch a speech. He said "Yes," and we both watched it.

Watching that humorous speech with my son (and my wife tagged along) was lovely. My son started laughing along. My wife asked, "Did you even understand?"

He goes, "Dida is saying funny things and people are laughing."

While the moment was awesome and I'm sure he did not understand the context and the meaning of punches, there was a powerful lesson.

Humor is contagious, and even a five-year-old will appreciate humor.

A couple of fun facts:

1) My wife was in the audience. We were not in a relationship then. And I'm not saying that the speech impressed her or something. Maybe it did, at least she never accepted it or talked about it.

2) She almost picked up a fight that I married her for making tea and lighting the lamp. Those were the topics in the speech that I talked about and some topics that we keep talking about in our day-to-day lives!

When I watched my speech today, I felt good about the fact that it's absolutely possible for you to create a speech from your life experiences.

I cannot give that speech now because my life experiences have changed. I've been married for almost 10 years. I cannot go and say what I said in that speech. "Every married couple is unhappy <pause.. really tense> That was a joke <pause...burst of laughter from audience>." !

What will I say now? I've not decided :).

As always, thanks for your attention, and stay awesome!

Have a great rest of the week!
